3-18-25 SCP 1-0 Monday as 3* LAKERS ROLL OVER SPURS! (PLUS 3 UNITS)

With the College Hoop men taking a day off as they await the start of March Madness, we had just a single Release on Monday as our 3* VERY STRONG play on the LAKERS -10.5 covered versus the reeling Spurs 125-109. LA built a 14 point lead at the half and coasted home behind a 30 point effort from Austin Reeves. Adding 3 Units on Monday brings our rolling 22 day record to 59-33 for PLUS 81 UNITS. While our handicapping has been on point the last few weeks, the Big Dance is a tough customer as predicting the outcome of every contest is based ENTIRELY on matchups. How do these teams match up in style of play, pace of play, tournament experience, reliance on the 3 and ability to defend the 3, guard play and many other factors. Who has the coaching edge? What teams have a fanbase that travels? We have historically done well in this tournament by acknowledging that these games, especially in the first round, are very high variance meaning limiting the number of releases to ONLY THOSE THAT OFFER SUBSTANTIAL VALUE is CRITICAL. Let the games begin!

3* VERY STRONG – LAKERS -10.5 (125-109) Win

WRITEUP: 3-17-25: LAKERS -10.5: The Lakers are playing very good basketball since acquiring Luka Doncic and, even with LeBron on the shelf, should make quick work of the reeling Spurs. Since losing Wemby for the season the Spurs have thrown in the towel by completely quitting on the Defensive end. In their last 10 games they have allowed 128 PPG, 40% shooting from deep and 52% from the floor. They are also 2-10 ATS in their last 12 on the road. The Lakers, on the other hand, have covered 6 straight at HOME and look to give OKC a serious run for their money in the upcoming Western Conference playoffs. With or without LeBron, the Lakers have plenty of offense with Doncic, Reeves and others to light up the pitiful Spurs on their home floor. This one could be over by halftime.
