3-27-25 SCP 0-1 Wednesday as KENT ST Comes Up Short (-2 Units)

Our 2* Strong selection came up short as Kent St lost on the road at Loyola 72-62 in a NIT Quarter-Final matchup. The Golden Flashes impressive run in the NIT ended as star Jared Sullinger decided to take the night off scoring 12 points on 5-17 shooting. This dismal performance came on the heels of scoring 34 in Kent’s road upset of #2 Seed Stanford. The Ramblers continued their Home dominance and will move on to the Semi-Finals. Losing 2 Units brings our rolling 31 day record to 67-47 for PLUS 73 UNITS. After a very PROFITABLE Run, the last week has been up and down with several Bad Beats and several just plain Bad Handicaps. All of our efforts are now FOCUSED on the SWEET 16 as we look to have a STRONG FINISH to the College Basketball season.

2* STRONG – Kent St +5 (72-62) LOSS

2* STRONG – Kent +5: Tonight we have a NIT clash with the Loyola Ramblers hosting the Kent Golden Flashes. Loyola comes HOME after a West Coast swing where they knocked off lowly San Jose 73-70 and then #1 Seed San Francisco in a 77-76 nailbiter. Red hot guard Jayden Dawson led the way in the upset of SF scoring 34 points. Kent also hit the road for their first two blowing out St Bonny 76-56, and then getting by #2 Seed Stanford 77-75. Jalen Sullinger scored 34 in the victory over Stanford. In their current form these teams are very close and a +5 spread seems to be giving Loyola extra credit for beating SF in a matchup where the Dons did not have their best player Marcus Williams. In February Kent decided to go uptempo and it was a rousing success. They scored 90+ four times in a 5 game stretch to get back into the MAC race. They have scored 72 or more in 12 of their last 13. The Golden Flashes keep this one tight the whole way with the last possession likely deciding the outcome.
