NOTE: We must lead with an apology as it appears some subscribers did not receive the 3* Clippers play due to a technical error on our part.
As our subscribers well know we have successfully been riding the LA train from the outset when we released a 2* STRONG play on the Clippers -115 to Win the Series. We also had a 3* VERY STRONG Winner on them in Game 1 and a 4* ELITE Winner in Game 2. So it came as no surprise that we went back to the well on Thursday with a 3* VERY STRONG selection on the Clippers -5.5 that was Never in Doubt in a 117-83 dismantling of the fatigued Denver side. We have been saying the “No Bench Nuggets” would tire as the Series went on and it happened in spades on this night. Unfortunately our 4* ELITE MLB play on the ANGELS 1st 5 ended the 5th in a 3-3 tie for a PUSH. The Angels Tyler Anderson finally gave up a run after giving up nothing in his last 11.2 innings. The Angels had a chance to add the run we needed with a baserunner in the 4th and 5th but could not push it across. Adding 3 Units brings our 59 day rolling record to 93-66 for PLUS 91.64 UNITS.
4* ELITE – (MLB) Angels (1st 5) -142 (3-3) PUSH
3* VERY STRONG – (NBA) Clippers -5.5 (117-83) WIN
4* ELITE – (MLB) ANGELS (First 5) -142: Tonight the Angels (11-12) host the Pirates (10-15) trying to avoid an embarrassing HOME SWEEP. This is a prime spot for the Angels’ bats to wake up facing converted reliever Carmen Mlodzinski who has been terrible as the Pirates’ fifth starter. He has been hit hard in three of his four starts and carries a horrendous 7.41 ERA and a 2.00 WHIP. Opponents are hitting over .300 against him and he did not strike out a single batter in his last start versus the Indians. The Angels, on the other hand, send Tyler Anderson to the hill and he has not allowed a run in his last two starts covering 11.2 innings. In his 2 Home Starts he has pitched 11 innings allowing 4 hits and 2 Earned Runs. After dropping 2 straight at Home versus the lowly Pirates, and with a massive pitching advantage, this sets up as a “PERFECT STORM” for the Angels to have the lead after 5 innings.
3* VERY STRONG – (NBA) Clippers -5.5: Tonight the Clippers host the Nuggets in Game 3 with the series knotted up at 1-1. Both games in Denver came down to the wire but we see this one going much differently. Denver has essentially played their starters for 2 full games and the chickens come home to roost here as the Clippers depth and balance will allow them to stretch this out in the second half when Denver’s tired legs will say enough is enough. Thus far we have won a 3* and a 4* on the Clips in the first 2 games (along with a 2* SERIES release still in play) and will double down yet again as the Clips are JUST BETTER on OFFENSE and DEFENSE and have much better DEPTH than the Nuggets. Rinse and Repeat.
