We went 1-2 on Saturday thanks to a complete meltdown by 2* STRONG Arizona’s bullpen and a moronic manager that refused to remove relievers when it was obvious to everyone but him that the gas cans were throwing belt high batting practice. One would think Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo had a bet on Colorado the way he handled his bullpen on Saturday (causing flashback from the Texas game yesterday). Arizona led 11-6 through 5 innings and then Jalen Beeks and Ryan Thompson proceeded to surrender 7 runs on 7 hits with 3 walks over the next 1.1 innings leading to a 14-12 Rockies win. Just unbelievable and unacceptable game management for a Major League manager. (On a personal note this was doubly painful as it cost me a $400-$1,700 parlay). Our 3* VERY STRONG release on the Phillies was an easy 5-2 Winner behind another stellar outing by Zack Wheeler who shut out the Pirates over 6 strong innings. Our 1* SOLID play on Tampa Bay OVER never had a chance as the Marlins could not do a thing at the plate getting shut out 4-0. Dropping 1.24 Units brings our 82 day rolling record to 126-96 for Plus 92.52 Units.
3* VERY STRONG – (MLB) Phillies -1.5 (-144) 5-2 WIN
2* STRONG – (MLB) Arizona -1.5 (-160) 14-12 LOSS
1* SOLID – (MLB) Tampa Bay/Miami OVER 8 (4-0) LOSS
