5-30-25 SCP 0-1 Thursday Knicks Blow Out 4* PACERS (-4 Units)
The Pacers pulled a complete Game 5 NO-SHOW on the road Thursday as they were blown out by New York 111-94. The Knicks came into this contest down 3-1 in the series and they played like it to the delight of a frenzied Home crowd. Jalen Brunson scored 32 points and led the way in a game the Knicks had to have to extend their season. While the Knicks did step it up on defense, the Pacers were awful, shooting just 30-74 from the field and 10-30 from deep. With that type of offensive effort, or lack thereof, our 4* ELITE selection on the Indiana Team Total OVER 109 never had a chance. As we noted in the write up, the analytics on this play were very strong with the Pacers exceeding this Team Total in 14 of their last 17 games and averaging 120 PPG on the road in the playoffs. But, for whatever reason, they allowed the Knicks to control the tempo throughout and their heart and attitude never got off the bus. Dropping 4 Units brings our rolling 94 day record to 130-118 for Plus 53.29 Units.
4* ELITE – (NBA – Team Total) Indiana OVER 109 (NY 111-94) LOSS
5-29-25 4* ELITE – (NBA – Team Total) Indiana OVER 109
The Pacers are deep and balanced with too many scoring options for the Knicks to handle as they have proven during the regular season and in these playoffs. This series would already be over already if Indiana would have kept pushing the tempo when they held a 20 point lead in Game 3. We believe they learned a lesson there and will force NY to play at their pace the entire game with Tyrese Halliburton controlling the offense from the point. The analytics behind this play are VERY STRONG. The Pacers are OVER this number in 14 of their last 17 games and 13 of their last 14 on the road. Indiana has a 120.8 offensive rating on the road in the playoffs with a ridiculous 2.22 Assist/Turnover ratio. They are averaging 120 PPG on the road in the playoffs. The Knicks defense is average and their legs could be a bit tired in the 2nd half tonight.
