Coach Bill Belichick got a rude welcome to the College Football scene as our 4* ELITE TCU Horned Frogs pounded NC 48-14. (We also cashed our LAYERED plays to -6.5 as mentioned in the write-up). The Tar Heels brought in 70 new players but apparently they needed to get some better ones as their Defense was torched on the ground and through the air, allowing the Frogs to score 41 unanswered points. The TCU infantry rushed 35 times for 258 yards while Frogs QB Josh Hoover completed 27 of 36 for 284 and 2 TD’s with wideout Jordan Dwyer catching 9 for 136. The NC offense wasn’t any better as they allowed 2 defensive Touchdowns, rushed for just 50 yards on 28 carries and lost their QB Gio Lopez after a half as he completed just 4 of 10 passes for 69 yards. Our 3* VERY STRONG play on Seattle/Tampa Bay OVER also got there as the Rays were a 10-2 Winner. Seattle starter Luis Castillo continued to struggle as Tampa pounded him for 5 runs on 6 hits over just 4 innings. Rays starter Shane Baz was able to shut down the Mariners offense as he hurled 6 shutout innings as he attempts to finish a disappointing season on an uptick. Our 2* STRONG release on Houston got there 8-3 as the Astros stopped their 2 game skid behind a solid effort from Luis Garcia who was making his first start in over 2 years. Garcia tossed 6 innings allowing 3 runs on just 3 hits. Angels starter Yusei Kikuchi got smacked around once again as he surrendered 5 runs on 8 hits in 5.2 innings. Adding 9 Units brings our rolling 187 day record to 278-196 for Plus 325.26 UNITS.
9-1-25 4* ELITE – (NCAA) TCU -3.5 -110 (48-14) WIN
9-1-25 3* VERY STRONG – (MLB) Seattle/ Tampa Bay OVER 8 -110 (2-10 WIN
9-1-25 2* STRONG – (MLB) Houston -145 (8-3) WIN
4* ELITE – (NCAA) TCU -3.5 -110
By our numbers TCU should be favored by at least 7.5 points which elevates this play to the 4* ELITE level. And if anyone not named Belichick were coaching NC, the number certainly would be closer to a TD. (Though not an official release, we will personally be layering this play up to -6.5 should any subscribers wish to follow). This is simple. The Heels must figure out a way to mesh 70 new players into cohesive units with a completely new system. They face an experienced TCU squad with a very good defense and a very good QB in Josh Hoover. NC already has some O-Line injury issues and they will not be able to run the ball versus this stout front 7; nor will transfer QB Gio Lopez be able to throw against TCU’s speedy secondary. It’s only a matter of time before Hoover hits some big plays, and/or Lopez makes some costly mistakes, and the ROUT WILL BE ON!
3* VERY STRONG – (MLB) Seattle/Tampa Bay OVER 8 -110
This play is a COMPLETE FADE of the current form of both starting pitchers as our numbers have the posted Total as being nearly a FULL RUN SHORT. Seattle’s Luis Castillo has hit the wall of late and certainly Cannot be Trusted in this spot at this ballpark. In his last 3 starts Castillo has been awful as he has allowed 14 runs on 24 hits with 6 walks over just 13 innings. And Shane Baz has been no better for the Rays as he enters this contest with an inflated 5.19 ERA. In his last 5 starts Baz has tossed 25 innings and been shelled for 22 runs on 29 hits. In this hitter’s park we see balls flying all over the yard with either team being capable of covering this number by themselves.
