We went 2-1 on Friday with our 2* STRONG selection on Ladd McConkey OVER 5.5 Receptions barely getting home (6). We predicted in the write-up that Justin Herbert would be allowed to air it out, and he was, but we did not see Keenan Allen getting more targets than McConkey. Thank goodness the Herbert-McConkey connection was efficient as Ladd was able to grab 6 of the 9 throws that were headed his way. This Charger offense is only going to get better and will be a very Tough Out for any defense going forward. Our 1* SOLID play on the Brewers was a 5-2 Winner as Quinn Priester did what he always does….WIN. Priester went 7 innings allowing 2 runs on 6 hits. Johan Oviedo was great for the Pirates tossing 5 shutout innings and allowing just 1 hit but the relievers, along with 3 errors, led to the loss. Our 1* SOLID release on the Reds came up short as the Mets were a 5-4 Winner. Both starting pitchers had off nights. Andrew Abbott for the Reds lasted just 4.2 innings while allowing 5 runs on 9 hits. Cincinnati got to David Peterson for 4 runs on 7 hits in 5 innings, but it was just enough as no runs were scored after the 4th inning. Adding 2.3 Units brings our rolling 191 day record to 286-199 for Plus 338.11 Units.
2* STRONG – (NFL Player Prop) Ladd McConkey OVER 5.5 Receptions +115 (6) WIN
1* SOLID – (MLB) Milwaukee -142 (5-3) WIN
1* SOLID – (MLB) Cincinnati +100 (4-5) LOSS
2* STRONG – (NFL Player Prop) Ladd McConkey OVER 5.5 Receptions +115
The general perception is that Jim Harbaugh wants to run the ball and, while that may be true, he wants to WIN more. Harbaugh knows the Chiefs are much more vulnerable through the air and, rather than trying to smash through a stout front 7, we see him letting star QB Justin Herbert air it out tonight. Herbert has 3 very solid receivers in Quentin Johnson, Ladd McConkey and Keenan Allen and KC cannot double them all. Last season Ladd McConkey came into his own and we expect him to become a star in 2025. McConkey runs all the routes, and he runs them precisely, allowing Herbert to confidently know right where he will be on every play. The connection between the two is excellent. We see McConkey receiving double digit targets in this matchup versus the Chief’s questionable secondary which will give him ample opportunity to grab 6 balls at PLUS MONEY.
