We went 1-1 on Tuesday with our 3* VERY STRONG play on Ohio +7 coming through as the Bobcats beat UNLV 17-10 straight up in the Frisco Bowl. Star RB Sieh Bangura romped for 149 yards as Ohio controlled the line of scrimmage in a surprisingly low scoring battle. This was the Bobcats 7th consecutive Bowl win. Our 2* STRONG selection on Seton Hall/Villanova OVER 135.5 was not so fortunate as the Pirates shot a paltry 33% from the field, including 3-13 from deep, to sink the ship in a 64-56 Villanova victory.
12-24-25 3* VERY STRONG – (Bowl Game) Ohio +7 -110 (17-10) WIN
12-24-25 2* STRONG – (CBB) Seton Hall/Villanova OVER 135.5 -110 (120) LOSS
12-23-25 3* VERY STRONG – (Bowl Game) Ohio +7 -110
We rarely step out with a Top Play on the lesser Bowl Games but this is simply too many points to give a very solid Ohio squad versus a team in UNLV that possesses a BAD DEFENSE. The Bobcats fired head coach Brian Smith, due to having an affair with an undergrad, and replaced him on an interim basis with DC John Hauser, but we do not think that will have any affect on Ohio who does not have any significant opt-outs with their QB Parker Navarro and star RB Sieh Bangura in place. The UNLV Rebels are good on offense behind QB Anthony Colandrea, and likely have the edge over the Bobcats there, but that edge does not justify a 7 point line considering sieve like Defense. Ohio will look to control the time of possession, and shorten the game, behind a good O-Line and a very good running back in Bangura and we see them succeeding with a reasonable chance of winning straight up. The Bobcats have won 6 consecutive Bowl games and will be super competitive in this battle as our numbers make this line UNLV -3 which elevates this play to the 3* VERY STRONG level.
12-23-25 2* STRONG – (CBB) Seton Hall/Villanova OVER 135.5 -110
Last season Seton Hall had one of the Worst Offenses in College basketball averaging a pitiful 61 PPG. To add some punch to the lineup coach Shaheen Holloway hit the Transfer Portal bringing in a trio of guards: AJ Staton-McCray (Miami), Tajuan Simpkins (Elon) and Adam Clark (Merrimack) which has led to an 11-1 record and a much improved 76 PPG. On the other side the Villanova Wildcats (9-2) are averaging a robust 80 PPG and are led by guard Brice Lindsey at 16.7 PPG. The Wildcats boast a very balanced attack with no less than 6 players averaging 9.2 PPG or better. The oddsmakers have not quite caught up with the Pirates’ offensive improvement and have set this Total too low, considering both club’s current form.
