We only had 1 selection on the first day back from the All-Star break as we chose to let things shake out before jumping in heavily but our 4* ELITE play on Cleveland came in nicely with an 8-6 victory. The final score was a lot closer than the game itself as the Guardians jumped all over JP Sears and led 7-0 after 4 innings. Sears lasted just 4 innings allowing 6 runs on 6 hits. Slade Cecconi was very good once again for Cleveland, until he gave up 3 runs late, allowing 6 runs in 8.1 innings. We believe the Guardians have found something in Cecconi as we will look to back him in the second half. Adding 4 Units brings our rolling 141 day record to 193-164 for Plus 123.94 Units.

Cleveland comes into the second half winners of two straight after coming out of a long losing streak. They will send Slade Cecconi (3.44 ERA) to the hill hoping to keep the momentum going. Cecconi has been very good in his last 2 starts tossing 13 innings and allowing just 4 runs. Over his last 7 starts he was given up just 12 runs in 39.2 innings. For the Athletics it will be JP Sears who has been a bit better of late but who has struggled on and off over the course of the season. The same can be said for the Athletics overall as they have disappointed. We look for Cecconi to shut down the A’s erratic offense while the Cleveland bats start off the second half in style in front of the HOME folks.
