We went 1-1 on Monday with our MLB play being an easy Winner and our NFL release suffering a tough beat due to a 4th quarter defensive collapse by the Bears. Our 3* selection on the Cubs/Braves UNDER got there in a 4-1 Atlanta victory as both starting pitchers continued with their solid recent form. The Cubs Shota Imanaga spit up 3 runs in the 1st inning but that was it as he lasted 6 innings allowing 5 hits. Braves starter Bryce Elder was sharp once again as he tossed 6.1 innings holding the strong Cubs lineup to just 1 run on 5 hits. Our 1* SOLID selection on the Bears looked good for 3 quarters as they led 17-6 while Vikings rookie starter JJ McCarthy looked every bit the first time starter. But Chicago decided to quit playing defense in the 4th quarter and McCarthy led Minnesota all the way back for a 27-24 win. Adding 1.95 Units brings our rolling 194 day record to 296-204 for Plus 359.04 Units.
9-8-25 3* VERY STRONG – Cubs/Braves UNDER 9 -120 (1-4) WIN
9-8-25 1* SOLID – (NFL) Bears +1.5 -105 (24-27) LOSS
9-8-25 3* VERY STRONG – (MLB) Cubs/Braves UNDER 9 -120
Our numbers have the listed Total as being nearly a Full Run Too High considering the current form of both starting pitchers which elevates this play to the 3* VERY STRONG level. Shota Imanaga has been excellent all season as he enters this contest with a 3.15 ERA and a sub 1.00 WHIP. In his last 5 starts he has tossed 34 innings allowing 10 runs on just 18 hits with 32 strikeouts. Braves starter Bryce Elder had a mid season swoon but he has bounced back nicely down the stretch. In his last 3 starts Elder has permitted just 3 runs on 10 hits over 20 innings. It’s never easy playing MLB UNDERS with two strong lineups involved but the starting pitching matchup we have here warrants it. We see an old fashioned pitchers duel with runs being hard to come by and the outcome decided late.
